This week was a strange one. I’ve been dealing with a major issue: my nose wouldn’t stop bleeding, and it’s been like this for three weeks now. At one point, I even started feeling dizzy from all the blood I was losing. I finally decided to tell my coach, and when he heard, he wouldn’t let me practice and took me straight to the hospital. It turns out that an artery had burst in my nose, which is why it kept bleeding so much.
Tuesday was a bit of a surprise. Since I wasn’t allowed to train in the morning, I figured I’d catch up on sleep and stayed in bed until 9:30. That’s when I found out that even though I can’t train, I’m still expected to show up and watch practice. That late morning cost me a fine of 5 euros. After I sorted that out, I grabbed some breakfast and went about my day, attending my class and taking notes. Later, I headed to the video analysis room to review my performance from the last game.
Wednesday arrived with a blast of cold rain in Sevilla. I was freezing since I didn’t bring a jacket. Since I still couldn’t train, I worked on conditioning by doing some swimming and light running to keep my fitness up. Watching all my friends train while I’m sidelined is incredibly frustrating, but I’m hoping to be back next week.
Thursday was everyone’s rest day, so we had a late start after staying up playing video games. I woke up at 11:15, which was a bit stressful because I had Spanish class in 15 minutes. I rushed to shower and get to class, but it wasn’t the most productive session. My next class was more engaging, and I’m finding that online school really helps me balance my studies with football. Since it was a rest day, a few of us decided to go out for dinner. We didn’t have much money, so we went to a cheap place, but it wasn’t about the food – it was just great being with friends.
By Friday, I was in a pretty bad mood. It had been five days without training, and it was starting to wear on me. After classes, I decided to visit the psychologist, who’s been a real help. He reminded me that I’ll be able to train again in just a few days, which lifted my spirits. For dinner, I stayed at the residence, where they surprisingly had delicious cake for dessert – a rare treat that made my day a little better.
Saturday is grocery day, so I stocked up on everything I need for the next week: food, paper towels, soap, and other essentials. It feels strange doing this all on my own at my age, but I’m noticing that with each day, I’m maturing a bit more.
